WORLD FAMOUS G-MACK

It takes ambition, talent and finesse to blow the minds of party patrons throughout the city of Atlanta. These attributes come natural to Garrett Webster, more commonly known as the World Famous G-MACK. In a short period of time, G-MACK has infiltrated Atlanta’s entertainment scene with personality and style, taking the city by storm and spinning the hottest music from a variety of genres.
Born in Jamaica and raised in the Bronx, G-MACK developed his passion for music at an early age. He began playing the piano while in elementary school. During middle school, he added the trombone to his repertoire and even took to the guitar for a while. Upon receiving a full scholarship to Morehouse College, G-MACK migrated to Atlanta at the age of 17. He found an interest in djing through a college friend and got his start on campus in the Atlanta University Center where he rocked the crowd at Spelman on Market Fridays and at Morehouse on Hump Wednesdays. “I just fell in love, it came so natural,” says G-MACK. “Next thing I knew, people were asking me to dj their events.”
He has been influenced by the djs of Atlanta, such as Mars, Herb, Jelly, Trauma, Infamous, and Greg Street as well as those in his hometown of New York. Now staking his claim in the hottest city on the map, the Morehouse College student has established himself one of the most requested and anticipated djs in Atlanta. To date, G-MACK has provided the soundtrack at events that have been hosted by John Legend, Ludacris, Ne-yo, Lance Gross, Polow Da Don, Keri Hilson, Greg Street, Ryan Leslie, Fabolous, Carl Thomas, Raheem DeVaughn, and Bangladesh to name a few.
“I enjoy the sexy events,” says G-MACK, “I tend to zone in on the women, I believe that they control the crowd.” He is bringing the excitement back around the music through private events and weekly gigs in the Atlanta. Using his musical gift and charisma to satisfy partygoers, G-MACK realizes the influence of the dj and takes pride in delivering the unexpected. At every event, his primary goal is to provide some variety in order to create the ultimate party experience. G-MACK has a reputation of spinning ground breaking artists and giving the crowd the opportunity to experience music on a new level.
G-MACK has not only made his mark on the entertainment world as a dj. He’s worked as assistant to an A&R for Universal Motown, an intern with one of Atlanta’s top radio stations, V-103, and assistant for a personality at Hot 107.9. “People couldn’t get rid of me, I didn’t mind learning or doing anything. I’ve always had the mindset to help first.”
Throughout the past few years, G-MACK has been widely recognized for his talent and work with independent and major labels. He was featured in the College Guide of Atlanta’s Creative Loafing as “Most Likely To Be Seen.” First an intern for Hittmenn DJs, he then organized the promotions and college marketing arm of the organization, Hittmenn Hustlers, and led the group to receive a platinum plaque in promotions for Lil’ Wayne’s album Tha Carter 2 and Chamillionaire’s The Sound of Revenge. He has also assisted in promotions for many other artists, both established and upcoming, including Akon, Yung Joc, Marques Houston, Gorilla Zoe, Rich Boy, London and One Chance.As an entrepreneur, he has forged relationships with Metro Atlanta retailers in efforts to provide entertainment and drive business, bridging the music and fashion industries. Along with spinning in stores for Puma and Adidas, G-MACK led successful promotional campaigns for Soft-Sheen Carson and Sean John Fragrances. Through his company team BTL, a boutique marketing and entertainment consulting agency, G-MACK has done collaborations with Patchwerk Recordings’ I Do Music, Red Bull Energy Drink, Footlocker, Fli Pelican clothing, and Atlanta’s newest hot spot 404 Lounge.
Now a celebrity blogger for GlobalGrind.com, video correspondent for rolling Out Magazine, and assistant A&R for Compound Ent., the focus has shifted away from solely marketing the products and services of others to include himself. As one of the new faces of Atlanta’s emerging industry executives, G-MACK is destined and determined to positively impact change within the music community and shine the light on deserving artists. With his phenomenal drive and stellar reputation, there is no doubt that the best is yet to come from this mogul in the making.
