Blues Review Magazine says that she sings with "Power & Personality".BOBBIE JANE LANCASTER BEGAN WRITING SONGS AT AGE 17, when she was a student and coffee shop singer in Vincennes, IN. She became a Bloomington resident in 1999, and performed her original music for the first time with a garage band called “American Standard”, which she later found was also the name of a large toilet manufacturing company.IN 2001, SHE BECAME THE LEAD VOCALIST FOR A RIPPIN' BLUES BAND CALLED "CODE BLUE". With CODE BLUE, she grew enormously as a singer, was named 1 entertainer & 1 female vocalist by readers of the Indiana Daily Student in 2003 & 2004, had the honor of opening for the late Sam Myers & Anson Funderburg and the Rockets, performed at the Bean Blossom Blues Festival, and began performing her original material once again. She performed with for CODE BLUE for 4 years and recorded “CODE BLUE featuring Bobbie Lancaster”, a 16 track CD featuring several original songs by Lancaster & several individuals in the band.IN 2004 BOBBIE BEGAN TO PLAY THE MANDOLIN, after some instruction from her friend, Stella Suzette Weakley, and soon after, STELLA & JANE became a regular part of the Bloomington music scene. They started out opening for Bluegrass artist, Alicia Nugent in 2004, have since played clubs from Austin, TX to Nashville, TN. They recorded their first CD together in 2005, and have sold out, however, all songs can be purchased as digital downloads through iTunes & CD baby (www.cdbaby.com/stellajane) IN 2008 "STELLA & JANE" RELEASED THEIR 2ND CD, "ON WITH THE SHOW" song samples from that album can be heard on this myspace page, as well as at www.stellaandjane.comBOBBIE FREQUENTLY WORKS AS A STUDIO MUSICIAN, and has the joy of backing up Krista Detor & Tim Grimm on occasion!HER NEWEST VENTURE IS AN ALBUM OF CHILDREN'S MUSIC! She is the "music lady" at the Monroe County YMCA, and all songs written for the album "LITTLE FOLKS" were written for the children at the YMCA & developed to enrich & support the preschool programs there.
