My musical knowledge and involvement spans way back to the early 80s when i discovered hip hop / breakin / graffiti.The first record I bought was the message 'Grandmaster Melle Mel,that was my ticket into rap/hip hop.I started collecting electro tracks and self taught to body pop and break.I was and am original b-boy.I love all breaks and beats,there are many favourite breaks out there,a few of my fav's are 'Hot Wheels-The Chase' and 'Tom Jones-looking out my window' to name but a few...!I studied and followed the scene through to the late 80s,within this time was I'd go to hip hop jams up and down the U.K,also lucky enough to see some of the greatest names in Hip Hop perform live such as - Public Enemy,NWA,Beastie Boys,Run DMC,LL Cool J,Mantronix,HiJack,ICe T,Big Daddy Kane,De la Soul,Tribe called quest,plus many more........! 1988 my music tastes were changing due to the attitude and tension in the scene,I started listening to various pirate radio stations and hearing mix tapes out of london and north of england,Acid House and Hip House sounds were sweeping the country I then started going to parties across the u.k. I used to DJ and started m.c'ing on the 3 party scene as well as clubs and warehouse raves.Our collective started to build up a sound system which we put together several big free parties with,one in particular ended with us having the system impounded by the pigs for breach of the peace plus various other bullshit criminal justice breaches!!I continued my passion for underground music from the hazy days of early detroit and chicago house,to Italian piano classics,to belgium techno,UK prototype breakbeat,Hardcore,Jungle,to Drum and Bass,where you find me today!!!! I co-own URBAN BASS which has been going since 88,its now being promoted by top man and best friend KRISSY S.My skills have taken me oversea's I have played many places including Ibiza and Ayia Napa and once worked as oversea events promoter for MTV Base.I have performed across the UK for various promotions including Helter Skelter,Ektos,vibe tribe,exodus,circus warp,spiral tribe,Dreamscape,innersense,obsession,drive by,dusk til dawn,Escape,movement,homelands,1xtra to name but a few.....I have resided @ Escape Swansea,and Crobar,now M.c for W.O.M.P,Marvel,Sotb,and Urban BAss, I represent all things good in music and all the people I Love.I stand strong in south west wales and beyond, flying the flag and representing the drum and bass headz,tru soldier til the day I draw my last breath!!! peace,love,unityCHECK OUT www.urbanbass.co.uk for gig listings!!!!!!!
