About Me

Not much history yet... we were working on some tunes and aimed to have a debut completed in 2007, but that's not gonna happen. It might never happen. We'll see.

JRA was formed by two knuckleheads that have known each other since attending high school together in Upstate New York during the early to mid 80's.

One of us has written, played and recorded since the 80's, while the other sat on his ass for 35 years before eventually giving the guitar a serious (sic) go. We also recruited the best looking and smartest drummer from our graduating class.

If you suspect any of our songs were written about you, we would need to point out how vain you must be.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.jackrubysalibi.com
Band Members: Chris, Fingaz, Skeet and maybe Frank
Influences: Cheap Trick, Clash, Kinks, Pixies, Generation X, Ramones, Replacements, AC/DC, Wilco, the Who, Weezer, Old 97's, Sex Pistols, Young Fresh Fellows/Minus 5, Superdrag, New Pornographers, Centro-matic, You Am I and Spoon. Plus, a bunch of others.
Sounds Like: For some misguided reason we also have our own JRA site. We might maintain that regularly in the future, but since Myspace is where all the predators hang out we figured we might as well too.

We have numerous sweet sounds, but none of them are professional.

Critics, friends, relatives and major psycho fans have used the following to describe JRA: Derivative, hacks, weak!, drunk, stormy, mediocre, pissy, rockin', inspired, stale, edgy, cliched, poppy, middle aged or older, sorta folky, blues houndish, lacking, hip-shaking, obviously on drugs, punk with a little twist 'o' soul, smart, snappy, insightful, ploddish, grassy knoll-ish, immature, heartfelt, dumb, loud (but caring and sensitive), fast, sloppy, knee-slappin', groovy, gorgeous, blazing, LOL!, raw, roaring, tight, mid-tempo, boring, remorseful, improvisational, limited and deranged.

We're not gonna set the world on fire with fresh new sounds that've never been heard before, but we're having fun. Well, at least some of us are.

We were gonna call the band "Big Al's Global Warming", but we are much too mature to pull a stunt like that.

Type of Label: Major

Reunion Tour?

How could that be when there never was a JRA tour during our first illustrious and ill-fated run? It's been well over a year since I logged onto this page so I figured it was worth shaking the rafters...

We've Gone All Rock Star On Ya

ZRadio played our worst song the other day. That was way cool. We are possibly going to re-record "The Heretic" next week, and maybe some other bullshit too.  We'll see.  It could get ugly....
