In an era based more on catchy dance moves than catchy wordplay, few artists have emerged from the dark shadows of commercialism to defy themselves above the rest. Without question, Ghostchild is one artist who has.Born as Michael Lamola, GC grew up in Pemberton, New Jersey- a Philadelphia suburb rarely known for its musical talents. Ironically enough, it would be in this small town that Lamola would begin to not only craft songs, but craft a local legacy that would provide him with a respectable fan base from around the world.With two albums (“The Genesis 12:16”, “Diamond in the Rough”) and one mixtape (“Beyond Diamonds”) to his credit, Ghostchild has begun working on his fourth project, titled “The Crisis”. The mixtape features a variety of songs, including the hits “Like Me” and “Since You’ve Been Gone” feat. Morgan D. Along with these songs, GC plans to release a selection of joints that are equally as personal, as they are socially conscious, while still providing the creative lyrics that his listeners have learned to love."It’s not really a mixtape,” the young phenom remarks. “It’s more of an album, except with a few industry remixes.” While other rappers throw together countless and pointless tracks on their mixtapes, GC promises to put forth as much effort in his latest project than he did with any project before: “It’s about effort, ya know? Listeners recognize the hustle and grind of the music industry and if they see you’re putting your heart and soul on every song you put out, then they’re sure to respect you a lot more.”
