I am here for Friends

About Me

I have spent my first two summers of vet school working at MS State environmental toxicology lab doing Parkinson's disease research, and I love Starkville Mississippi. Portland, Oregon is right up there, too. After graduating vet school I moved out to Northern California with my boyfriend, who is a SCHOLAR at University of the Pacific! I have a dry sense of humor. I am clean (generally). I am foregiving to a fault. I am sincere. I try to get along with everybody. I have an unhealthy attachment to sugar-free Sobe Adrenaline Rush drinks. I love bugs. I hope to be a board certified laboratory animal veterinarian. I'll try anything once! Well, almost anything... I like to cook. I love to travel. Sometimes "grease-ballin' it" is just a necessity. I can be unattractively goofy, especially if I have to play sports. I have three lizards, one whiney, clingy Scabby Cat (no longer scabby), and one big stinky pup, Lola. My standard beers are Killian's Irish Red and Wittekirke. I love potato latkes and Sour Patch Kids (not together). BTW, if you wanna be my friend, send me a message, tell me about yourself. I don't talk to strangers.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Sherlock Holmes, Linus Pauling, Tom Hanks. Angela Lansbury. Michael C. Hall. Gweneth Paltrow. Kathy Bates. My great grandparents. Anyone interesting.

Mississippi Moon Keep on Shinin'....

I feel as though it's been nearly a month since I've felt settled, but I am, finally!  Final exams were crazy, but I survived, and then had a fast dash down to Mississippi for my summer job in St...

The eggplant as you never knew her.

I was once asked by a friend of mine (some of you may know her), Kelly Dey, what fruit or vegetable I would be if I were to be one. This is a very heavy question, and I was unable to answer her at the...

Canine Custody Battle

I woke up this morning so relieved to have my dog sleeping peacefully in his bed (his wonderfully posh $130 posterpedic gel bed).  It all happened like this: I was taking him on a walk in my neig...

I am procrastinating(sp?) by writing this blog...

Yes, yes, I vowed I would not neglect myspace once school started, I had become so addicted to it, and yet here I am.  It is the eve of my first exam of the semester and already I feel behind wit...

Read All About It

This week's top news: School has been in session for almost a week!  I think this semester is going to get really hard, but right now I like most of my classes, and I think it will be a lot more ...

Bookworm

The last weekend in July all the students in the Merk Merial veterinary research program showed off their goods in Athens GA at UGA.  Great times, especially getting drunk and hanging out with Ma...

A flake off the ole' block...

Well, well, well...I probably wouldn't be here writing this very blog (and therefore you wouldn't be having to be here, reading this very blog), but I am an idiot and locked my keys in the car.  ...

For Serious Cynics Only

What is it about hope that is so appealing?  It gives such a positive vibe, even a warm fuzzy feeling.  The most pathetic human plight can turn to the feel-good flick of the summer with the ...

Taking Inventory: A potentially contraversial blog.

Well, today I was thinking after we sacrificed some of our mice.  I know, that sounds creepy, like it should be said in some satanic other-world voice, but in the scientific community E...

Ogre Foot

Among a multitude of other incredibly exciting things (like playing with baby raccoons on Friday in wildlife ward), it appears that one of my little inverterate friends has inadvertently injured me.&n...
