About Me

Mary Morgan is a singer songwriter who first started writing and singing songs as a teenager in the mid 1990's. She frequently played "open mics" in the coffee house circuit in Buffalo, NY, and quickly developed a loyal fan base. Her style of music can best be described as a blend of "acoustic alternative" and contemporary folk, often with a jazz/funk rhythmic feel to it. Her songwriting approach can vary from being introspective to delivering a social consciousness message.Mary's forte is performing live and she strives to connect to her audiences with sincere emotional commentary, rather than dazzling them with overly trite or obscure poetic language. Mary finds that creating music is a necessary part of who she is and she continues to release her feelings and perceptions about life through her unique musical and lyrical talents and stage delivery. Most recent compositions like the songs Road and Home, reflect Mary's journey to the core of her spirit; a search for truth marked by compassion, and reverence for the people, places, and experiences which have shaped her. Mary has a style and sound very similar to artists such as: Joni Mitchell, Janis Ian, Jewel, and Judy Collins.
