About Me

I started playing shakuhachi in 2004 under the direction of Sensei Michael Chikuzen Gould (www.chikuzenstudios.com). I still take lessons from him as frequently as possible and practice as much as my busy life allows. I study Honkyoku, Minyo, Sokyoku, and various modern works. Currently I am working toward my Okuden (Advanced Level) and hope to obtain a Jun Shihan (Associate Teacher's Certificate) some day.
