I am here for Friends

About Me

Updated 17 May 2008
The dork who's been there:
I grew up in Tacoma WA, my pops (R.I.P.) was a biker, ex-army tanker & SF back in the 'nam, Ma was a home-maker until she dumped my pops for his physical abuse and alcohol problem. I've got a full brother, and a half brother and sister who I didn't meet until my teens (apparantly pops didn't know about them either!).
Moved out to the sticks when I was about 12, learned all about nature and wildlife, rode my bike everywhere and I've been working since the age of 14. After high school, I had scholarship options and grants lined up, but like a dumb ass I thought my friends were more important than my education.
Some years passed, and one by one all of my friends either turned to drugs (me too for a few years) or left state for college, and eventually shit fell apart. Long story short, I ended up homeless in SoCal for a month, living on the streets from Barstow to Riverside. That's when I decided to enlist in the US Army back in '99 and settle some debts to pull myself together. I served a rather distinguished term for 6 years as Artillery with the 1-15th (2ID) and 3-320th (101st). Politics caught up to me by my 4th year, where I learned a bit more than I cared to, then decided to follow my Mother's wishes and ETS.
I lived in TN for the months after. I got my CDL for Hazmat hauling about the same time they changed the federal requirements for driver's insurance, which ultimately got me screwed by a contract deal that (once again) put me under. In the meanwhile, I was working for Dell until I moved back to WA with my folks. Time once again to get back on track, got my ass into college finally, and almost got that contract debt settled.
In the coming years I intend to finish my Associates and try to get into Berkeley for a grad program in Biotech Engineering (many moons from today).
Aside from all that, I've got a slight country bwah TN accent (a little country gramurr don't hurt now and again!) that makes for fun times up here in the NW where everyone sounds like an English nerd with a Filipino accent to me. Haha. I don't attend church of any kind, got no kids, been married and divorced, own my car, really enjoy fitness, and my only real hobbies are video games, hangin out with friends, philosophy, and porn. = p
