BORN AGAIN

BORN AGAIN" Except a man be born again he can't seek the kingdom of GOD" John 3:3The gospel singing group Born Again was organized May 12, 2002, with five members. The unconditional love that we shared for gospel music caused us to unite instantly. With relentless rehearsals and dedication, we developed a unique style that captured listeners of all ages. Original tunes and various styles of music such as, old spiritual, blues, jazz, rap, and our favorite, contemporary, has allowed us to minister to everyone.DeLawrence Dillard, a native of the south side of Chicago, discovered gospel music at an early age. Born into a deep rooted singing family, allowed him to learn and really appreciate gospel music. He tried his hand and formed his first group entitled (Just Family). Just Family had many different agendas so, he continue to press on. As he continued to write lyrics, a group was being formed in which he was asked to be a part of (Changed Men). GOD had truly blessed this group. They traveled to L.A. to perform at Bishop Neol Jones church, sang with Tina, of the duet singers (Mary Mary), and appeared on many television programs. Things were good until changes occurred. So again he pressed on. On May 12, 2002, GOD saw fit for him to do his own thang. Presto! Born Again was resurrected, and the rest is history. GOD is good all the time.Johnny Hollis, and Jimmy Slaughter, both coming from musical and deeply rooted gospel singing families, were two of the original members of Born Again. Even in the midst of adversity, these spiritual brothers stayed right by DeLawrence side. As Born Again continued to do GODs' will, blessings were being bestowed on the group. They were blessed to appear on (WGN) Sing Sensation, health benefits, annual concerts, and countless engagements throughout the Midwest. Born Again was blessed to appear on programs with gospel artists such as, Darius Brooks, Kim Stratton, Lemmie Battles, Kim Burrell, and many others. In 2006, GOD blessed us again with two new member. Trenese Dulaney, ( DeLawrence's sister)and Cheetara Slaughter,(cousin) brought to us just what was missing. Now with these new edition, the puzzle has been completed. Born Again knows that if we keep GOD first, keep the faith, and glorify his name in song, all things are possible......yawl better watch out!
