Brickshitter Fanzine is the latest and final incarnation of a zine I've done off and on for 4 years now. It was originally called "This is How We Do It" and was a halfsize full length zine. That was a pretty disastrous project because of how long it took to get all the content together, and how bad I am at laying things out in halfsize.
The first issue featured an interview with My Revenge from VT and the now defunct Settle the Score from Albany, as well as the usual columns, record reviews, pictures, etc. The Second issue had an interview w/ Outbreak from Maine and Hoods Up! from Albany, both of which were almost two years old by the time they saw print.
After that, I switched to "newsletter" format, which just meant fullsize but much shorter. The first issue in that format had an interview w/ Evixxion from Albany, and Twiztid Chris's Behind the Times Fanzine (which was and still is the best zine to come out of Albany in 8 years).
I liked the new format as it was easier to get things done in a somewhat timely maner, but was kind of sick of the name by this point. So it switched to Brickshitter Fanzine. The second issue had an interview with Knife Fight from Cali and Nightslasher from Albany.
Issue number 3 came out in March, and has in interview with Hellhole from New Jersey, a NYHC superbattle ala NCAA bracketing, a few "articles" and some pictures.
Brickshitter Number 4 was the April/May issue, with a Mother Night interview, the second part of the hardcore superbattles, this time featuring DC bands, and more columns.
The current issue, number 5, has interviews with Nate of Gloom Records and Black SS from syracuse, as well as the Boston superbattle and more columns. This issue and all the back issues are up for download in the blog posting above as PDF's, or send your mailing address to: [email protected] for a free copy. Sweet.
So much useless history. Kind of like all of us.
