About Me

I was born in 1975 in Montevideo, Uruguay. My parents, without knowing it, introduced me to The Beatles. They had "Abbey Road" and "Let it be" among some other records. When I was 13 years old I wanted to play an instrument. I thought that the guitar would be a good option until I went to a party and I saw a band called "Quo Vadis?" whose drummer impressed me. I studied with a few different drummers in Uruguay: Miguel Romano (Quo Vadis?), Jorge Alcaraz, Diego Garcia (Graf Spee), Alvaro Garcia (Ankor Vat, Inner Sanctum, Skunk DF), Julio Guglielmi (Los Gigantes) and I took some master classes with Gonzalo Farrugia (Psiglo, Crucis) and Jose Luis Perez (Ceibo, Arco Iris, Latin Lover, Ritual, etc). I also played candombe on the streets of Montevideo (Afro-Uruguayan rhythm). When I was 15 years old I started to play in different bands. I recorded a couple of songs with a band called "Femmes Fatales". I played with them for only a few months. We had a contract signed with a label that I can't even remember the name. We recorded a couple of songs at "IFU" studios at the end of the year 1993/beginning of 1994 and shortly after that the band broke their contract with the record label. In 1995 I focused my energy in a band I started with a friend of mine. With Fabian we started a power house band called "Coyote Cojo". We recorded an EP that has never seen the light but we had the pleasure to play at "La Factoria" as an open act for Inner Sanctum and NDI from Argentina. We also played at "El Teatro de Verano" of Montevideo (outdoor venue) in the coldest month of the year. We had 350 people watching and listening to us in a venue that holds 6000 people. Life took me down other avenues until I found Nomades in the year 2000. We recorded a song that was published in a compilation called "Graffiti" under the Obligado label . Our song's name in this compilation was "La ley primera". We recorded a bunch of songs at Obligado's studio and later on we recorded the same bunch of songs at Sudei's studio. All these songs have never been published. We played together for almost 2 years. We never got to play in big venues, only small pubs. After having 4 different bass players playing in Nomades in less than 2 years, I moved to Canada. Once I got to Canada, I played with a wide variety of indie/stoner rock bands (GUT, Psylocibinide, The Hooded Fang, etc). I've been playing with an instrumental prog-rock band since 2004. We played the entire downtown area circuit and we recorded a bunch of songs but we haven't found/looked for a label to publish our material. As a music collector, I specialize in Uruguayan music, mainly psychedelic rock from the sixties and the seventies. Some of my favourites bands are: Totem, Psiglo, El Kinto, Montevideo Blues, Crucis, Arco iris (with Jose Luis Perez), Eduardo Mateo, Dias de Blues, OPA, Ruben Rada with every band he played with since the late sixties until today, Jaime Roos, etc. I would like to say thank you to all the musicians that I've played with during all these years. Rock on!I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
