THE CLINIC (NEW SONGS + PIX 5/20)

About Me

Checking into The Clinic is a one-way road – you can never turn back. From the first driving guitar riff to the power-arching melodies that belt from The Clinic’s debut recording, The Get Up EP, addiction ensues. Infusing rock, edgy pop-punk and catchy, heart-pounding melodies, The Clinic has created a chemistry that doesn't need to be experienced live in order to catch the message. The Clinic is on the scene and they are ready to supply oxygen beyond the Southern California music scene that cultured their local success.
Hailing from the sunny West Coast, The Clinic consists of five members, all seasoned musicians and veterans of locally successful bands, including Foolproof, Newhaven, and Neighborhood Riot. Despite album releases with produced records, national tours and the moderate success those bands retained over the past 5 years, each member desired something greater for their creative outlets – they wanted more. So came the decision to break away from corporate backing and combine forces to form the super-group, The Clinic. Combining a pair of brothers, a groovilicious bassist, a metal-influenced guitarist, and a Travis Barker/DJ AM inspired drummer...The Get Up EP is the confident creation of experienced musicians; musically matured and refined beyond the limitations of virgin recordings.
The Get Up EP, recorded with sound legend T.J. Rivera at I-10 Productions in Fontana, CA, highlights lead vocalist Matt Saverino’s intense, edgy songwriting; bringing a ripe sensuality to signature rhythms that scream Get Up and dance, you sexy thing. Drumbeats pound like an indie heart in some recordings, and stand as a funky fresh tribute to Serg the Groove Master’s bass flavor in others, ultimately offsetting the harder punk-metal of energy-driven guitars. If you can’t put your finger on their sound, then you’re starting to get just what The Clinic is all about. This is a sound you can not manufacture; The Clinic makes music that is at the same time radio-ready and never-been-done before.
When questioned on The Clinic’s musical influences, guitarist Noah Balik reports that The Clinic has elements of Thrice with a catchy, melodic vocal resemblance to Fall Out Boy; but ultimately comes out as “ Foo Fighters clashing with a tweaked-out AFI”. What matters the most is that The Clinic, who grew up as childhood friends, are fierce on becoming a household name and catching your player on repeat, every single time.
The same month The Clinic debuted TheGet Up EP at a friend’s backyard housewarming party, they cut their teeth in front of Friday night crowds at Anaheim’s Chain Reaction, House of Blues and Orange County hotspot The Galaxy Theatre. Compelled by their pop-punk party mix, fans even road-tripped to Las Vegas for their first show at the Sin City's own, Double Down Saloon.
Don’t be fooled by the seemingly instant success of The Clinic – each member has earned their place in this band, and once seen live it is apparent why. The Clinic’s performance professionalism and raw energy expands out from crowds of 5 to 50,000; creating an enigmatic wave of screaming fans and banging heads among epic, intimate guitar licks. Radio-ready single, The Loneliest Curse of All, serves up crunchy rock and roll reminiscent of the Aussie band Jet, while conversely, Rainy Day Women “has a fun, catchy energy. We believe Rainy Day Women appeals to the widest spectrum of people, connecting with kids on a deeper level of love lost and heartbreak,” Matt reflects.
Make no mistake - The Clinic’s stellar debut, The Get Up EP, is about to make you do just that. The band’s dedication to their music, attribution to their fan base, and drive to perfect and perform both live and in the studio has built a solid foundation from which to grow from. In short, expect great things from the next great thing.
The fact that they have managed to establish themselves in one of the most competitive local music markets in the country without representation, and the fact that their debut recording absolutely kills it, is more than impressive; it speaks for the natural talent that comes from this hard-rocking crew of gifted individuals.
The Clinic’s sexy animosity and undeniable marketability sets them altitudes above amateur musicians vying for attention in the market today. And The Get Up EP is only the beginning. Truth be told, The Clinic will be around for a while. It’s time you set up the appointment that will change the rest of your life.
