About Me

MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile GeneratorAnnual Report to Parents 1992
School: South Wingfield Primary
Child: Robert Jones
English:
Very mature speech, extensive vocabulary. Very good at verbal reasoning. Enjoys stories and poems, very good recall. Robert is reading well and uses his imagination to good effect in creative writing but must check writing to ensure it makes sense. Oral communication is less impressive and he really needs to work on this; he mutters and I have to ask him to repeat himself. He can create an image of ‘aloofness and dreamy’.
Mathematics:
Robert would be much further on if he was motivated to work faster. His mental arithmetic is accurate but he tends to be rather slow and unmethodical at times.
Science:
Mainly based on BBC tv programme "Thinkabout Science". Our work involved a practical approach concerning Energy and Forces, Environmental Issues, Earth and Space, Light and Colour, The Variety of plant and animal life, Weather.
Technology:
Needs encouragement to start a task but then has good ideas. Careful cutting out etc. but sometimes has to rush to finish. Robert would not take part in baking sessions.
Art:
Robert’s drawings and illustrations are excellent. He pays great attention to detail. He has worked in a wide variety of media – collage, paint, dough etc.
History:
Mostly cross-curricular and based on the BBC TV programme 'Watch'. Topics include Families, Food, Journeys, People who Help Us and Forty Years Ago.
Music:
Enjoys singing and musical activities. Robert can clap a simple rhythm.
Geography:
Good work on maps and local geography. Robert is sometimes a little reserved in lessons and says little.
Physical Education:
Robert enjoys using the large apparatus. He also likes outdoor activities. In movement he does not listen carefully enough to the instructions given and must be more willing to participate in team games rather than watching the activities of others.
Religious Education:
Listens to R.E. stories with interest. Has made thoughtful contributions to the discussions on religious topics.
Teacher’s Comments:
I feel that Robert is now integrating into the class much more. He is enjoying playing with the other children. He still has very occasional “wild” moments, when I tell him his behaviour is not acceptable but he does seem much more settled.
How you may help your child:
1)Insist that Robert always forms letters and numbers correctly.
2) Set time limits on some activities he does to encourage him to work more quickly.
3) Develop strategies to improve his listening skills with respect to instructions.
