Stay Fly Three 6 Mafia (Nebulla & DJ Dore Dirtystep Remix)Add to My Profile | More Videos
Where dubstep combines English two step and breaks with Jamaican dub, dirtystep brings the sound closer to home, adding the retro sound and rugged, raw, vocals of dirty south hip hop to the blend. Included in Volume 2 are remixes of Three Six Mafia’s “Stay Flyâ€, T.I.’s “Big Things Poppin (Do It)†and Soulja Boy’s “Crank Dat†alongside tracks released by Nebulla and DJ Dore on Code of Arms Records. The mix tape is hosted by Tracktion, a versatile lyricist who reps Durham NC.
Nebulla began playing Hip Hop at college in North Carolina. Already a fan of Jungle and Drum and Bass, he quickly refined his style with clear dedication to mash-up genres. After moving to New England to study sound engineering, Nebulla began producing his own tracks, using the name Jnglmssv Productions. He has since moved back to New York City where he works in music marketing. Nebulla founded Code Of Arms Records in August of 2007. The label is dedicated exclusively to dubstep and features digital releases produced by himself, DJ Dore, DJ Soroka and others.
DJ Dore began spinning records in 1997 when the only records in his crate were James Brown, Frankie Bones, and A Tribe Called Quest. He soon gained interest in dub reggae and drum and bass, frequenting New York’s Wetlands club to attend Konkrete Jungle’s weekly bashment. While honing his mixing technique spinning ragga jungle and drum and bass, DJ Dore found an outlet for his diverse musical tastes in audio production. Since 2006, his focus has turned from drum and bass to dubstep, where he has gained considerable ground as a DJ and a producer. Keeping in line with his trend of mixing and sampling across genres, DJ Dore has teamed up with Nebulla to forge a hybrid of dubstep and dirty-south rap on their forthcoming bootleg album The Dirtystep Mixtape Volume 2.
