In the summer of 2006 singer/songwriter Olof Sinke and drummer Martijn Brederveld met at a barbeque of some mutual friends. While enjoying the usual charcoaled meat and beer they talked about MUSIC: the main drive in both their lives. After the BBQ they went to Martijn's place to drink and jam. The Outback was born. After inviting the young guitar prodigy Angelo de Rijke and bassist Rene Verhage, new songs and a new sound started to develop. Most of the material is written by Olof Sinke and the songs are about love, women, surfing and the beauty of mother earth. In November 2007 guitarist Angelo left the band to play with famous Dutch rocksinger Anouk. He is now a true professional and is living the dream. The Outback was looking for a new guitarist but it proved to be very difficult to find someone who really understood the feel and atmosphere of our songs. At this moment The Outback consists only of Olof, René and Martijn. As a trio they play small acoustic gigs thoughout the country.
Working on new song @ Olof's place. Backing vocals by Willemijn van Dijke, recording and video editing by Olof Sinke.
