my first name's mike. but the only name you'll need is my surname, ivens.
i’m lazy, cynical and angry. i’m never really content.
but it’s very unlikely you’ll see that side of me.
i am an aspiring graphic artist. ideally, i’d like to sit in front of a mac all day long, pouring the contents of my brain into artwork, whether it be physical or digital, and i want to get paid for it.
until then, the closest I’ll get is Badmaths .
I attend the Henley college and am currently in the second year of my a levels.
I do 2 a levels; photography and English language. I dropped art a level.
why? because when you try and make art into an academic subject it turns into a 2 year obstacle course in which the only obstacles are suspended hoops. there’s a conveyor belt on your right hand side the whole way along, and this is known as the ‘not a sucka lane’. but art a level put up an electric barbed wire fence between you and the lane, so jumping through said hoops is mandatory.
one day, after tripping over and missing several hoops in a row, I realised that the fence was only about a foot high. I stepped over it and am currently enjoying the much less stressful work path of the ‘not a sucka lane’.
