Hey! Turns out we had two articles in 4th Coast!
Rising from the ashes of The Shpiel , Phil Neisser and Dan Caldwell joined Doug Schatz to form Sundog in order to scratch out eclectic soulful rock with too many hints of all sorts of genres we have no right to play. Last year, Welly Netto sat in on Bass for a couple of shows and can be heard on our debut album, From True to Gone. We are thrilled to now have a permanent bass player in Dave Nelson. There are lyrics: some call them philosophical, some say political, we prefer pretentious. At any rate, it is original and we hope you enjoy! Live music is now available in mp3 format. Free downloads of the entire first show are found at the bottom of this page. You can also buy our cd by clicking here .

Thanks to E. Watson and K. Caldwell for the photos

Dan Caldwell - Plays some guitar, vocalizes the vocals, writes some music.

Doug Schatz- Plays some face melting guitar , harmonizes some harmonies, teaches Dan how to write chord changes in the correct key.

Phil Neisser - Plays some drums, writes some words, gets us our gigs, is a real musician

Dave Nelson - holds it down with a thumpin' bottom end (that's what she said), makes great "that's what she said" wisecracks.
