IMPORTANT: The band is over since mid July 2008. This MySpace will remain as a memory and an example of how some good musicians let it all down the drain and let go a good opportunity in music, an opportunity that could be very well a future for all of them. Just as any relationship, not all moments are good, some are bad. But the band just have to stay united and not let anyone interfere with their goals and plans...
CONCERTOS:
Concerto no Orfeão de Valadares
Note: The song we have uploaded is NOT a professional recording. It was made during a rehearsal, hence the type of sonority.
Friday, February the 13th 2004. Being on a huge “hangover†after a memorable Dream Theater concert at Coliseu do Porto, Luciano calls Nuno to make him a proposition of a project he could not let get away.
Together, after gathering some original thoughts when composing, songs like “Oceans of Time†and "Poem In Madness†came up, along with another loose riffs.
Already with some material to work with, the vocals had their first appearance with André and a few days later Sérgio on the keyboards. After a few rehearsals, a new song was born: História.
On May 9th 2004 the first live act of the band took place. It was a mini- concert in a motard gathering, but still without a bass player.
Two new members joined the band in July that same year. Tino to guitars and Jorge to the bass.
On December 4th, the first concert of the band took place at the legendary Hard Club, one of the best show-rooms in Portugal, by the name of Missing Link.
After that show, stimulated by the positive critics, the band drives back to rehearsals, to keep the rhythm of creating music flowing.
But after a series of good things, the band has its first ups and downs: two members of the band leave in the middle of creating new songs, André and Jorge.
After a while searching for the musicians who could fill in those gaps, the band find a female voice, Branca, and a new bass player, Zé LuÃs. Thinking that all was going well, the band had another breakdown, the keyboardist Sérgio and the newcomer Zé LuÃs.
At that moment, the rest of the band started to think in making real auditions and interviews to musicians, up to find out people who were really interested in creating music since they had so many in-and-outs of the band.
A new chapter here begins: Nuno found Rafael, a keyboard player who he had jammed with a couple of times in the past; Ricardo, an old friend of the band, as a vocalist; and Tero, for the bass.
The band decides to change it's name to Atégina.
But, not all is well. After some internal problems, Tino leaves the band

Atégina or Ataegina was the goddess of the renaissance (Spring), fertility, nature and cure in lusitana mythology.
Is recalled as the lusitanian goddess of the Moon.
The Ataegina name is originary of celta Ate + Gena, that would mean “renaissanceâ€. The consecrated animal the Atégina was the goat. It had a devotio cult, where somebody invoked the goddess to cure somebody, or even though to launch a curse that could go of small plagues to the death. Atégina was venerated in the Lusitânia and in the Baltic, dedicated sanctuaries to this goddess in Elvas (Portugal), and Mérida and Cáceres in Spain exist, beyond other places, especially close to theGuadiana river. It was also one of the main goddesses venerated in places as Myrtilis (Mértola of the present), Pax Julia (Beja), both cities in Portugal, and especially venerated in the city of Turobriga, whose localization is unknown. The region was known as the Baeturia celta.
Diverse registrations exist that relate this goddess with Proserpina: ATAEGINA TURIBRIGENSIS PROSERPINA: this relation happened during the Roman period.
