Known mostly for his songwriting and warm smile, Jon remembers his dad recording a song he and one of his sisters wrote for their grandparents when he was five years old. "That was my musical starting point and by age fifteen I started playing guitar, writing music and singing in Texas and New Mexico. I really enjoyed it! And it just gets better every time I write and perform!"
Jon's musical journey through life took him to Tennessee where he continues to play solo, in acoustic duos, and he has started and been a part of several bands. Jon writes and performs many styles of music but generally concentrates on writing folk based pop/rock! Jon has two EPs and one full length album to date and he is working on a new album.
Growing up in the Southwest and on the West Coast, Jon's mother (a church singer/pianist/organist) and his father (who loved lots of music) were his introduction to the world of music. To this day, a spiritually charged feel permeates all of Jon's music! "I believe God gives each of us gifts and we choose to use them or not to! I believe music should not just be heard but that it should actually be moving or life changing", Jon continues, "I want to create music that people can actually say, 'That touched me so deeply, my life was changed!'"
Jon attended South Plains College in Texas (where many top performers start out and come back to lecture/teach) and Middle Tennessee State University (known for its stellar music recording program). "I've been privileged to work with some great musicians! I have a great family and incredible friends who support me in all I do and that is such an honor! I'm continuing to write new music and I look forward to share it soon! I hope you'll take a listen and be taken in by this eclectic blend of God pop, be touched, be moved, be changed!"
