Rebel Starr Bio Mars had sex with Venus and produced a set of twins, Back Wordz (the boy) and Likwuid (the girl). The soulAquarians, joined by the sign of the Water Bearer, were then separated at birth leaving Back Wordz in New York City and Likwuid somewhere stranded in the South.
In 2007, as fate would have it, the two kindred spirits rejoined and found each other in a street battle in the Lower East Side of NYC. Upon noticing the vast similarities in their appearance and their matching Afros, the two both agreed that they had been coupled together by Fate for a supreme purpose.
Today, the earth has been blessed with Rebel Starr, the Neo-Quantum-Retro-Hip-Hop-Boy-Girl Duo. After sharing stages with artist such as Bow Wow, Lyfe Jennings, Talib Kweli, DJ Webstar, and Ray Lavendar, Rebel Starr has created a collection of symphonies that contain elements of funk, soul, trance-hop and hip hop. In fact, their 2nd single “Back Again” caught the attention of a few film producers from MTV’s sister network, Logo, and landed the song in a nationally released film.
It should come as no surprise that in 2008, Rebel Starr would make their 1st MTV TRL appearance, and then go on to hit several stages across the east coast, (which included several events that focused on the youth or giving back to the community).
Rebel Starr is currently available for hosting and performance opportunities nationally and internationally. The pair will release their first full length LP, tentatively entitled “Constellations” in late 2009. Rebel Starr’s affiliations include DORK U, ROYALTY MEDIA GROUP, YMF and GNU.
