Amy Argent

About Me

Amy-Kathleen(Kat) Argent was born in Charlottetown and came ready to rock! DNA sealed her fate. Her dad, Tony Argent was a songwriter and guitar player for both Snakeye and Peppertree, two of the early bands from Canada's east coast to achieve national recognition. Amy's mom, Shirley was a backing vocalist for both April Wine and Crowbar with Pam Marsh.
Amy formed her first band in '99, soon after taking up the guitar and beginning to write. She performed at a number of functions across the Island for the next several years.
By 2003 Amy was performing in the duo, "Donovan and Amy." (with lead singer from Flush and Lenore), Donovan Morgan. The duo were regular performers at Myron's Cabaret and D'Arcy McGee's (now Hunter's Ale House) for Industry night. They were described as, "acoustic rock at it's finest". The duo were part of the "Close to the Coast" festival in '03.
In 2004, Amy was also performing with the Guns N Roses tribute band COMA, the Chamberlane side project that drew raves wherever they performed.Amy provided backing vocals on the album "Connecting Dots", by Charlottetown PEI band Chamberlane for the power ballad "Coming Home". This track also featured Todd MacLean, (Smothered in Hugs). The album was released in 2006. Her vocal delivery resulted in her doing more back up vocals for another Charlottetown band called Molotov Cocktail in the summer of 2006.
Amy recorded her first original song demo in 2006 with Dave Skinner@ www.lukasrainerecordings.comIn 2007 Amy ventured to Vancouver to work on new material and check out the music scene.
