what drives me: my passion is environmental issues, mainly, but i always have my hands in a million other things--animal rights and human rights issues, and the areas where they all coalesce. i hope to make a difference with my work now and in the future, regardless of where i may end up. at this point, my head is wrapped around the 'what am i meant to do with my life?' eternal question...my loves: reading, hiking, backpacking, biking, running, trees, cows, the smell of rain and snow, making jewelry, photography (especially black and white), beaches and the sound of the ocean, exploring, travelling, cooking, late night wawa pretzels and cella's dark chocolate cordial cherries, peoplewatching, finding new vegan restaurants and good vegan treats, dancing, having long conversations over good food, and those friends who help you dissect even the most neurotic parts of your personality. i love imagining the natural landscape as created art--budding trees and ginkgo trees remind me of impressionist paintings, especially with a slight squint of the eye. things that are a constant breath of fresh air: thrift store finds; genuine people (to themselves and the outside world); independent, strong women who don't cave to societal expectations; couples, young or old, still alive with each other's words; people who live each day as if it is their last; photography at the hands of children; books for children (namely The Lorax, The Old Turtle, and Where the Wild Things Are); those records that i always come back to (the smiths, morrissey, tori amos, coldplay)...
