A day we miss those who did not return and are grateful for those who did! It is a day that crosses generations - men of 80 and men in their 20s will pause and remember their buds - the good times, sad times, battles, trials and victories! We as a country have a special opportunity on Veteran's Day - we have the opportunity to reach out to our Veteran's and their families and say thank you. We have the opportunity to reach out to the men and women of our military who are currently serving and their families and let them know that we will stand beside them until their mission is complete a nd victory is achieved. We will stand beside them when they return and we will stand beside them as they recover from injuries and return to their private lives. We will stand beside them because they gave us the best and they deserve the best! This Veteran's Day I offer a challenge to you - a simple challenge - I ask you to reach out to the men and women of our military and their families and show them you care. Perhaps it's a cup of coffee at McDonald's. Buy a lunch for a serviceman/woman. Bring flowers to the military wife that lives down the block and simply say thank you. Visit a nursing home and speak with the WWII vets and listen to their stories and give them our thanks! For some, the written word comes easier - write today to your local paper and tell them why you are thankful for the Veteran's in your community - tell them why you are proud to be an American. Thank our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines for the fight they are waging and wining to protect our freedoms today! Let your community know that we will stand United for a Strong America! In honoring 1 we honor all. This is my Daddy:
