----------------------------------------------------VON GROOVEMEISTER Bio:
Music has always been a key-element for survival in Marcel Albert`s life.
Playing guitar, he was intrigued by Funk music from an early age. Influenced by the funky sounds of CHIC (Nile Rogers), George Clinton`s Parliament Funkadelic and the Average White Band, he played in several funk orientated bands in his late teens,
while engaged in Art-school in The Netherlands. After graduating the Dutchman traded in music temporarily for traveling whilst successfully modeling around the globe.
On his stay in London (UK) he got re-connected with the music-scene when he landed a job as a Video-Jockey for the Coca-Cola Top 100 Eurochart on the satellite station Superchannel, where he interviewed the hottest bands around.
Constantly looking for the ultimate challenge, Marcel took up photography and moved to Tokyo, Japan, in his constant quest to satisfy his hunger for the Arts.
It probably is no coincidence that there he once again found himself in the midst of the music-industry through his outstanding career as a high-fashion and celeb photographer, shooting high-caliber artists like Beyonce, Avril Lavigne and Jennifer Lopez for Harper`s Bazaar one-on-one.
It was in Tokyo where he eventually met Canadian Todd Shymko, who had just set up a brandnew band.
Missing being directly involved in music, he swiftly moved his way into the band as a back-up vocalist and percussionist, and soon after started playing a big role in the songwriting and general direction of the band, as his thoughts and inspiration were parallel with Shymko`s ideas for the Funkband SUPERFUNKTION.
