While working in my garden yesterday, I was thinking about how important it is to trim back and turn over the dirt periodically. This seems to be what I am doing in my life. I am making a fresh start in many ways. This has been a difficult summer and I am ready for the sparkling days of Fall, where the air has a crispness to it. By nature I am an optimist. My home is open and inviting and I love nothing better than having friends over. I accept people for who they are, not who I think they should be. At 42 I finally have a good sense of who I am and what I want for myself. What was important to me 10 and 20 years ago, just doesn't matter anymore. Friendship and love has replaced the toys. For me, this is what life is now about.
