Little Amber

Little Amber are a three-piece alternative rock band from Edinburgh. They are Robbie, who sings and plays guitar; Steve, who plays bass and sings; and Ewan, who plays drums.
The band was founded by Robbie in 1996, and underwent several line-up changes over the following four years. Late in the year 2000, a mutual friend introduced Robbie and Steve. Robbie had unsuccessfully been searching for a new bassist for some time, and Steve was musically uncommitted since the demise of his high-school rock and jazz bands. Robbie was fascinated by the fact that Steve listened to music that was quite different from his own tastes, and Steve was excited about making noise again! After auditioning a couple of drummers, they heard the call of Ewan, a fresh-faced family friend of Robbie's. Ewan was drumming for a metal band at the time, and wanted to expand his musical horizons. From the first time they rehearsed together, they all knew it was a winning combination. Again, Ewan had musical tastes that were quite different from those of Steve and Robbie. Although their new material maintained the melodic toppings of the past, it became much more intricate, with the bass and drums adding two new dimensions to the noise. The first gig that they played was highly anticipated by fans of old, and friends of new, and was a success in every possible way.
Over the next four years, Little Amber recorded several EP's and played many shows around Scotland and England. The aftermath of every gig results in many newly converted fans, who could not help but come back for more.
The latest offering from Little Amber is their independently produced and released mini-album, 'My Mistakes'. This takes its listeners on a forty-one minute rollercoaster ride that has been extremely well received by fans and acclaimed by critics. 'My Mistakes' was launched at a massive party during the 2004 Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, when the band played at the sold-out Liquid Room.
Future plans of Little Amber involve another release in the not-too-distant future, a tour of Scotland and further promotion of the My Mistakes album.
