Slim C's Bio

On December 18, 1986 Christopher Sullivan was born in Fort Riley, Kansas. The child of an Army father, he soon found himself in Germany, where he and his family lived for three years. As a child he banged on his toys. However, he perplexed his parents by constantly lining them up like a drum set, banging on them in effort to create rhythm. He was making his own music. At the age of six his family moved to Fort McPherson in Metro Atlanta, settling in Riverdale. Little did he know he would grow up in a burgeoning music capital, able to indulge his childhood fascination by growing it into his life’s passion.
In middle school he continued his fascination with beats by using his hands and pencils, banging on tabletops and desks. As other students gathered around and rapped, his love for beats would grow. While in high school he began to use a program called FL Studio. It was difficult. It took him some time to master the software. The only computer in the house was in his brother’s room. Needless to say, he had limited access. When his father purchased for him a computer of his own, Chris really started augmenting his skills. He created intricate complex beats that sounded as smooth and certain as anything heard on the radio. More importantly, they sounded like music he was making in his head. He worked to round out his Hip-Hop experience by rapping over his beats with a tight group of young verbalizers, Versatile, Young Reddie, Killa D, Master Jay, Young Ace, Face, Tron, and Young T. The group was called G.M.O.B (Get Money Ova Bullshit). However, it was his friend Tony also known as Versatile that convinced him to focus on crafting beats, a skill for which clearly had a talent.
Chris continued to focus on beats, and together the group went on to record their first song, It’s Whateva. A few months later he recorded a song called Da Meat at the home of then R&B star couple Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown.
Chris had coined the stage name Big C, but people always called him Slim. Apparently they felt he had a passing resemblance to Slim of Cash Money Records fame. And of course, he happens to be quite slim. He decided to make a change, and he took on the stage name of Slim C.
In 2005 Slim C got on the grind, increasing his musical output. Working with fellow classmate Dez, he recorded the songs Can I Get A Dance and Gangsta Thang. He continued his growth by producing for Dez’s group Money Militia. It was during this phase of his life that fate took hold, and his life moved in a different direction, but still ever forward. While on MySpace looking for new talent to work with, he met rapper Big Girl, who was at the time affiliated with G.E. Entertainment. In 2006 together they produced the song, The Other One. This work captured the attention of E. Stephens, head of the G.E. label. E was impressed, and he asked Slim C to work with G.E. as a producer. He agreed, and as a member of G.E. Entertainment, he’s worked with artists $hamrock, HoodLegendz, FA, J-Gutta, Big Girl, and Camo. In 2008, Slim C produced the lead song, It’s A Wrap, for $hamrock’s EP titled Live From Decatur. It’s A Wrap is available on iTunes and has been featured on one of Bad Boy South’s own DJ Teknikz mixtapes. In addition to working with G.E. Entertainment, In 2007, Slim C got with Kool Kuntry to become the main producer at the label M.O.E., Money Over Everything Entertainment as well.
Slim C is considered one of the best producers on the ATL’s Southside. His work ethic and dedication to his craft is truly paying off. He has produced several tracks for numerous artists and record labels. In 2007 he produced his first mix tape, and is actively working to drop his next effort titled Going 21 Strong. Stay up on Slim C. As Young Reddie’s loving mother, Johnetta Richardson, may she rest in peace, said, “Ya’ll watch how ya’ll treat Chris because he’s going to be doing big things real soon.”
