Buckshot

The Best Time In A Long Time!

About Me

Buckshot was originally born in 1977. The band was known for infecting its audiences with a rowdy energy by playing a blend of classic rock, country, oldies, southern rock and motown. This is pretty much the menu they still serve up today, with their usual silky smooth harmonies and driving beat that makes you want to keep dancing! The band disbanded in 1989, after years of extensive traveling and performing, to reconnect with family life. After a few years, Dick Paces and Bernie Boggs revived the Buckshot mantle and, in 2002, asked the other original members, Tom Aden and Terry O'Connor, if they would be interested in doing a 25 year reunion show at the Valley City Street Fair. These long-time friends reconnected personally and musically, remembering just how much fun they have onstage, getting people out on the dance floor and having a great time! They decided they didn't want the good times, the friendships and the music to end, so Buckshot is back. The band is well known for its wide variety of musical styles. They can mix it up or customize their songlist to a specific venue or audience. Band Members: TOM ADEN (pedal steel, rhythm guitar and banjo) Tom started playing professionally at age 14. His main influences were bluegrass and country music. In the early 70's. he became a member of Flatbush, one of Cleveland's first pioneer bands in country rock, before joining forces with his partners in Buckshot. He is an Ohio native that enjoys working on his century home, his vintage Corvette and running a business.RICHARD "DANGEROUS DICKY" PACES (lead guitar and vocals) Richard is from Cleveland. He began playing the electric guitar at a tender age, and was in his first band in high school. Some of his early influences were Crosby Stills and Nash, The Eagles, Joe Walsh and Jackson Browne. He joined a country rock band called Cimmarron, developing his vocal and guitar skills. He helped create Buckshot and toured the East Coast bar and truckstop circuit with all his rowdy friends. After the band temporarily retired, he freelanced with many other area musicians and bands. His other passion is riding his Harley on a perfect day.BERNIE BOGGS (drums, percussion, vocals) A native of Ohio, Bernie grew up listening to the sounds of country and southern rock, as well as bands like the Who, Van Halen, Foreigner, Genesis, Jethro Tull and, of course, the Eagles. An outstanding drummer, he has incredible versatility, whether setting the mood of a subtle lovesong or cranking out the hard driving rock tunes. As a gifted vocalist, he easily shifts from Vince Gill to Bryan Adams. He loves theatrics to liven up the stage. He has performed with Alex, Grand Theft Auto and LaZa Fair in the Cleveland area, as well as Street Life down in South Carolina. He is also an accomplished licensed contractor. He is definitely the beat behind the band.TERRY (HOSS) O'CONNOR (bass guitar, vocals) Originally from New York, he began playing guitar just south of Los Angeles at the age of 13. He left California for Cleveland and performed at numerous area coffeehouses and in several folk rock bands. Influenced by bands such as Poco, Marshall Tucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Crosby Stills & Nash and the Outlaws, he performed with a country rock band called Cumberland. Shortly afterwards, he helped form Buckshot and is known for his strong vocals, ranging from '50's and '60's rock and roll classics, to country and sensitive ballads.
