Womblecraft 4000-12.0.0.1.a emerged as a result of musical experimentation by the musically inept Womble. The rest of the band (guitarist Mike and bassist Hepatitis) could already play instruments, so they let him play them and make an experimental piece, which became 1sIx8. Then in a flurry of activity the band recorded both Establishing Hereafter and Sound of Luxury in the same night, following this up quickly with Dissident Whispers the next evening. During the recording of Establishing Hereafter the band acquired Eric as a member, required for the use of a gay scot'sman reading in an Irish accent. Discarding traditional instrumentation the band began experimenting with household items, pieces of architecture, instruments, fitted furniture and electrical goods. These multi-instrumentalists engage with music in ways that push the practice into new areas, and even within the EP (where the tracks are in chronological order) you can hear the band's evolution over just a matter of hours.
Shortly after the release of River Runs Rapid Runs Run River Rapid Rapid the band felt inspired to continue and as a result re-entered the Woodvale studio. Recording their album the band decided to take a while longer than they did for the EP and as a result the music on the album is musically more complex as well as more elaborately produced and mixed. It is also a concept album that chronicles the travels of Archibald the bear, his sidekick Dawg and their search for inner peace aided by Marmaduke's wise words. However not all goes to plan as they are harried by the malevolent forces of Drachmar and the very fabric of time itself. The album that resulted is over an hour long spread over five tracks, and titled BababadalÂgharaghÂtakamminÂarronnÂkonnÂbronnÂtonnÂerr
onnÂtuonnÂthunnÂtrovarrhounÂawnskawnÂtoohooÂhoordenenÂ
thurnuk and is the bands only album to date.
Unfortunately, due to tensions raised in the band by the recording and promotion process, which were exacerbated further by the drug usage of some members the band are currently on hiatus.
