About Me

In Session would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all of the love and support you have shown us over the years. It has been a real pleasure performing our music for you and we truly hope that the pleasure has been mutual!
If you haven’t heard, we have decided to take some much needed time off. We are experiencing some personnel changes, as well as a real desire to get back into the studio to start working on a third CD.
This is not the end of In Session...this is the beginning of a new era of In Session. New members, new ideas, and of course, new music. Some of the faces may change, but our vision remains the same…playing music and having fun doing it!
So, we would like to cordially invite all of you to our two final shows of the season. We are welcoming back some of the past members of In Session to perform with us as we prepare for our hiatus. It’s going to be a lot of fun, so be sure to put our final dates on your calendar. We would love nothing more than to see all of your smiling faces center stage!
Thanks again…see ya at the shows.

In Session's Bio
The evolution of In Session is rooted in its groovy flavor and the musical diversity of its seven piece ensemble. Influences such as Carlos Santana, Bob Marley, Sublime, Stevie Wonder, Superdrag, Paul Simon, the Grateful Dead, and Bob Dylan have contributed to the depth of their music catalog. By combining elements of rock, soul, reggae, and funk, In Session has carved its own signature into the music industry, coining a highly distinctive style now known to its audiences as Groove ~ Rock ~ Reggae.

Since its inception in 1999, In Session has aspired to new heights within its local and regional music industry. Right in their hometown of Richmond, Virginia they have already distinguished themselves as a band that can and has thrived in both smaller, more personal venues, as well as in arenas that are larger, and more commercial. This attribute showcases the diversity and quality of the music this group brings to the stage and studio alike. The esteemed Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Richmond Coliseum, Innsbrook After Hours, the Richmond International Raceway, and FOX TV are among the venues that have solidified this bands passion for performing at the highest level.

Their first CD Under the Moon was created from studio sessions conducted in August 2001. The CD has enjoyed reasonable success including radio play on the local Richmond R&B Station 106.5 The Beat, where the title track Under the Moon was featured on the Noontime Reggae mix. As for In Sessions latest recording endeavor, real diligence and commitment showed through with the completion of its best full length CD to date. Speed of Sound Studios, along with Grammy Award winning Airshow Mastering, set the stage for In Session to come away with ten top shelf tracks now known as ALLWAYS. It was released at one of Richmonds premier live music venues, Alley Katz, in August 2004, and continues to gain notoriety.

In Session is motivated, alive, and excited about what the future holds. They realize that not every band has what it takes to make it to the top; however, this is certainly one group that is willing to reach for the stars, and work hard to become them!
