THE ACTIONS (rock)Bio:He quickly achieved a good technique on his instrument which lead him to record guitar parts for a bunch of artists including Alessio Bonomo (Sugar/Universal) and to make relevant live/TV/radio experiences as “Sanremo Festivalâ€, “Recanati Festivalâ€, “Zona Cesarini Music Clubâ€, opening acts for “Avion Travelâ€, “Afterhours†, “Almamegrettaâ€, “Zuluâ€, “24Granaâ€, “Malfunkâ€, but without doubt one of his favourite job was playing acoustic guitar for Natalie Imbruglia on “Shiver†on MTV Total Request Live….
He learned to deal with mixers, softwares, keyboards, compressors, effects, mics and all the stuff needed in the producing process. He’s a co-founder of “THE ACTIONSâ€, indie rock band very known in the Italian and UK underground scene. With The Actions he played over 150 gigs including the Arezzo Wave Festival, MTV On Stage, opening for "The Distillers" and the Heineken Festival contest at Imola, opening for R.E.M., Green Day and Garbage in front of an audience more than 10.000. The Actions had a rousing reception at Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club for two consecutive years. The Actions’ songs got airplays on important Italian radio stations such as Radio RAI 1, Radio Citta Futura (Rome), Radio Citta Aperta (Rome), Radio Popolare (Milan) and their single "The Real Thing", remixed by Planet Funk’s GG Canu and Sergio Della Monica got airplay on BBC Radio One in PETE TONG’s "Essential Selection". The Actions got good reviews from Italian press like La Repubblica, Tribe Magazine, Rumore, Rockit etc… consolidating a huge fan-base in Italy. During the recording of their debut album they intensified their performances in London and got reviewed by UK press such as Unpeeled, UK Music Search, Karmadownload, Rhythm And Booze. Now The Actions’ worldwide fanbase is growing day by day. In 2007 they terminate the recording of their album "REAL", and they licensed it to NIKITA MUSIC, a Brazilian record label based in Rio De Janeiro. REAL is out right now in Latin America and available on internet. REAL is getting interests in Latin America and already got good Brazilian press releases. Recently The Real Thing plus other songs of The Actions are requested for synch by directors and important TVs around the world. Last 27th and 28th of June The Actions were chosen to open 2 dates of the VASCO ROSSI tour 08 at Arechi stadium in Salerno gaining an exposure to a total of 90.000 people.
In 2007 Maurizio co-founded a brand new electro club project "SPIT" whose first single "Falling" remixed by Daddys Groove team become during 2007/2008 one of the best dance tunes worldwide being lounched on BBC 1 by Judge Jules in his Saturday Night Show and licensed in many countries including UK to Ministry of Sound. "Falling" smashed the dance charts and has been one of the most played tunes at MIAMI’s WMC 2008, and is included in a huge number of compilations. Falling follow-up single DAWN is out right now and is already in the bags of top DJs.
