FRANKIE BANK$

About Me

From the debauchery filled Cake Thursdays at the Old Miami in Detroit to some of the most infamous club nights in the country, Frankie Bank$ is reppin' the new independent dance culture to the fullest. With a disregard for boundaries, Frankie's energetic, diverse sets are known for showcasing a wild range of music from electro to baltimore, rap, ghettotech, and rock 'n' roll. Though musically all over the map, Frankie..s sets are seamlessly tied together with a uniquely Detroit aesthetic and the technical ability of a dj who bought his first records at age 16 (1996) from the legendary Detroit music spot, Submerge. Whether it be the infamous Hollywood Banana Split party with DJ AM & Steve Aoki, a sweat drenched dance floor at Spankrock's weekly Jang House night in Philly, or headlining Shepard Fairey..s always packed Dance Right party, Frankie is consistantly exceeding expectations. Between DJ dates spread across the country and production work that has sparked the interest of hip hop heavyweights Elzhi (Slum Village) and Danny Brown, Frankie still finds time to play the promoter role and introduce his hometown to acts like M.I.A., The Cool Kids, and The Rub. Apart from life in dirty dive bars and jet-set clubs, Frankie has been on the move in the studio as well, and is currently putting the finishing touches on a full length album that according to Metro Times consists of "equally awesome and absurd rhyming dropped on top of in-your face, Escalade-rattling electro beats." Holler at the kid.

Influences: Maybe there is no heaven, or maybe this is all pure gibberish. A product of the demented imagination of a lazy drunken hillbilly with a heart full of hate who has found out a way to live out there where the real winds blow, to sleep late, have fun, get wild, drink whiskey and drive fast on empty streets with nothing in mind except falling in love and not getting arrested. Res ipsa loquitor. Let the good times roll.
Sounds Like: Flying in from Detroit. Detroit. You have a responsibility to make your dances really fucking dirty.
