Born Jazmin Jones, JayJones was born on October 21, 1986 in Atlanta, Ga. at Crawford Long Memorial Hospital to Callie Jones. She later moved to Letohatchee (LOWNDES COUNTY 4-5 STAND UP)/Montgomery (GUMP TWN), Alabama to stay with her uncle and aunt, David and Maggie Hale. She has been with them every since. JayJones started singing at a really early age. It began in church and in her 12th grade year she recorded her first track “My Lady” with the Iron Kidz of Montgomery, Alabama. It was on this track that JayJones rapped her first real song. It was then that she discovered that she also had a future in rapping as well as singing. After this, JayJones’ career got really slow. She moved to Tallahassee, Florida to attend school at Florida A & M University. Even though she was in school, JayJones still tried to make her career take off. In Tallahassee she recorded her song “It Took a Long Tym” with Sheldon Black whom she was introduced to through Terry Christian a.k.a. Chick Beze. This song did not take her to the top either. So she took time off to focus on her studies. She then moved back to Alabama to attend school closer to home. Returning home meant returning to the studio also. JayJones then went on to record two more songs “4 A Lil Wile” and “2nite”. These songs were better than the previous, but were not what she needed to put her out there. Greatness happened when JayJones moved to Birmingham, Alabama. She met up with a woman named Candace Herring, who is now her manager, who believed in what she was doing. Candace then went on to introduce JayJones to Don MF Zee, who is a very talented producer on the come up! From the time Don Zee and JayJones worked in the studio together, it was magic! The chemistry was unbelievable because the two clicked so well together. It was with the help of Don Zee that JayJones recorded her hit single “Again”. The two are currently working on JayJones’ demo cd, mixtape, and album. JayJones is definitely an artist to look out for. She is a triple threat because she sings, raps, and writes ALL of her lyrics! She is on her grind and representing for Alabama! So make sure you keep supporting her and start supporting her if you are not!
