Must Be Sam

After awhile, the road and sky become one.

About Me

Just to say a little, I'm a realist and at the same time passionate about anything that I do. I don't always make friends easily, but the ones I keep are friends for life. I have three brothers (one of which is an idiot), and a cat named Litterball. Life is a series of events, and we don't always have the best idea as to where it's going. Once again, I'm finding myself at a turning point, and hoping that this time my life will be led the way I want it to be.

My Interests

Music, writing, poetry, video games, insane amounts of driving, internet comics, sushi, dancing, Transformers, people who aren't mindless shells, talk radio, clubbing on occasion, drinking, making fun of politicians, Slurpees (especially mixed w/ a little Malibu), seafood, and great movies. I love to study cultures and look for all the oddities that appear in everyday life. I enjoy a good political discussion that ends up turning into either a brutal argument or a philosophy lesson. I like to talk long hours into the night, especially around 3AM when mostly everybody else in the area is asleep. I enjoy falling asleep under a nice big oak tree. I want to go on road trips to far off places for no reason at all, just for the adventure. I enjoy writing blogs that only two people will probably read, and that's because I asked if they have. I like setting goals and accomplishing them, no matter how hard they seem. I like to whistle 80s Freestyle while working and cutting holes in styrofoam cups to make bullhorns. I like going to the opera and watching how rude, improper, and uncivilized the high society-types can be. I enjoy long walks on the beach, except for the fact that I hate sand and beaches. I partake in collecting movies (over 300 so far) and apparently not watching them after I bought them because it was only two more dollars to OWN it rather than simply rent it. Finally, I am interested in people that have read this far.

I'd like to meet:

The honest truth is that if you're relatively laid back, easy-going, or at least not some sort of elitist asshole and/or douchebag, then there should be no problem in forming a fast friendship. I'm open to just about anybody, except for those in the following list. What I don't want: Stalkers (violent ones), creeps, people who want to put me in poo poo videos , mindless shells, racists, playa haters, more stalkers, people with no passion, people with no ambition, people with no action, girls with fake Myspace sites that email me saying they want to talk becaue they like my profile and are really trying to sell porn sites, bands that don't know me, girls with fake Myspace sites that email me saying they want to talk becaue they like my profile and are really guys, and people who are add-whores. Peddle yourselves elsewhere, you dirty, dirty peoples.

Music:

Depeche Mode, Green Day, New Order, Muse, VNV Nation, Clan of Xymox, Paul Oakenfold, Alice in Chains, Duke Ellington, Go West, Rob Zombie, Daft Punk, Audioslave, Stone Temple Pilots, Scooter, Soundgarden, The Offspring, Modjo, Garbage, Duran Duran, Live, Guns N' Roses, Candlebox, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Ellipsis (shameful self-promotion of my own band here), Peter Cetera, Nine Inch Nails, Crossfade, Anal Kitties, Sum 41, Stan Bush, Paul Simon, Koji Kondo, etc. Almost anything alternative from 1991-2000, Jazz, Techno/Electro/Drum and Bass/Disco House/Trance, 80's New Wave and 80's Rock, 90's pump-up music, and anything that you can dance to. To be honest, I have not found a single genre that I cannot stand, though I am far more partial to some than others.

Movies:

The Warriors, Fight Club, Rocky 1-5 (Rocky Balboa, too), Ameile, Ran (Akira Kurosawa), Snakes on a Plane, All Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez films, Shaun of the Dead, The Alien series, Crash, Team America-World Police, Memento, Before Sunrise, The Wedding Singer, Borat, Batman Begins (No homoerotic bat-nipples in this one!), Zoolander, Bubba Ho-Tep, Transformers: The Movie, Basquiat, Euro Trip, and any movie that really makes you think and/or laugh. Also, real shitty uber-low budget movies that make B-movies look like Citizen Kane (I'm looking at you, Mangina).

Television:

Futurama (have all 4 seasons), Lost, The Daily Show, Rescue Me, Lost, South Park, Family Guy, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Scrubs, Transformers, Batman the Animated Series, and Saturday morning cartoons. TV wastes too much free time (unlike the internet, of course).

Books:

The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz, Farenheit 451, Where the Red Fern Grows, Reconstructing Gender, Where the Wild Things Are, The Media Monopoly, Sphere, Flatland, The Social Reality of Crime, The Tripod Trilogy, America: The Book, REAL Ultimate Power; The Complete Guide To Ninjas, and more that I can't think of at the moment.

Heroes:

My Grandfathers from both family sides, all the martyrs I know of (Baharullah, Joan of Arc, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., JFK, etc.), Shel Silverstein, E.E. Cummings (best damn poet ever), Bob Budansky, Saladin, Raul Julia, Vince DiCola, Geraldo Rivera (somebody has to like him, I guess), and all the Prophets from the dawn of time and that will be.
