I bought my first Paso Fino, Napanga Dos, in 2002 after becoming completely hooked on the breed. As I suffer from hip and knee problems riding was always hard work and quite painful, especially as my connermara gelding was particularly round and bouncy!
After riding a Paso Fino I found I was in no pain and could ride for as long as I wanted without the worry of becoming stiff due to their smooth gait.
Along with the smooth ride, incredible temperament and spirit the Paso Fino really is a truly amazing breed and anyone who meets one will agree.
Today the Paso Fino reflects its Spanish heritage through its proud head carriage, elegance and four beat gait.
They range from 13.2hh –15hh and are fantastic weight carriers.
Paso Finos can walk, canter and gallop like other horses but their preferred way of going is their own natural four-beat lateral gait.
The Paso Fino gait will produce a wonderfully smooth ride, which is ideal for people with bad backs and other physical disabilities, which would otherwise prevent them from riding. The gait is performed at three different speeds: Classic Fino, Paso Corto and Paso Largo.
Here at Ranch Iyuptala we have a small herd of quality Paso Finos for people to come and experience. We pride ourselves on the natural lifestyle our horses have and boast to have the happiest and healthiest horses around.
We have horses available for you to come and ride suitable for people of all abilities. Our quality mares are the foundation to our breeding programme and carry many different bloodlines.
