Tick Bite Fever alias Roel van Oostenbruggen is the band I started in 2006.I named myself Tick Bite Fever after suffering from a braininfection as a result of a tick bite. My life changed after this and so I decided to name my band after this incident.I played music all my life. Wenn I was seven years old I played with an early version of cubase, this was my firt encounter with midi.
Wenn I was 10 I started to play the saxophone in an orkestra, but after a while I got bored so I decided to play the guitar.
My dad who played the guitar himself wanted me to play the saxophone but I decided to play the guitar. Dance music had always been a passion, but now, rockmusic was my priority. I played in a few rockbands, wrote some songs but it was never a succes. Technically the music was fine but it had no soul and no passion. After a long period of frustration I decided to go quit my band and make music on my own.In the summer of 2005 I went to Slovenia on a holiday and I got bitten by a tick. I thought it wasn't a threat but wenn I came home I got ill very badly.
At first the doktors in the hospital couln't find the source of the illness, but after a few tests they new it was a braininfection caused by a tick...I recovered, but the tick left something in my head. It seems that I have more energy after the incident and I expres that energy in my music!Just listen to music and decide for yourself.Greetz Tick Bite Fever
