We just heard that we've had our funding cut by the arts council. This is very bad news. It will mean that the open mic amongst other great projects will have to end... Please help us and send comments of your support before January 14th (deadline for appeal)

Subtext engages young people in the written and spoken word through workshops and live performances with writers, rappers, beatboxers, singers, film makers, graffiti artists and musicians using a multi- media approach.
We have an event called 'Mix The Flavour'on every other month, its the only open mic for young Londoners! Its FREE ENTRY, there's FREE FOOD, and FREE LIVE MUSIC...
This is an open mic event so the stage is open to all artists and all genres of music, the conditions are:
1) u must be between the ages 12-25 .
2)U have to Sign up between 6.30-7pm (There is a first come first ON policy so make sure you're early if you want to perform.)
3)and most importantly, YOUR MATERIAL MUST BE POSITIVE (No guns, shanks and cursing)
The showcase will start at 7pm and go on until 9.30/10pm, from 9.30/10pm-11pm there will be jammin', dancing and networking time for the music artists to make connections and for the ravers to shake one leg!... Holla if u want any more info. This night is Lively!
