Songbird

Songbird started writing at the age of 14 and from that time on became immersed in everything to do with music. The real journey began at a small studio in Whitechapel, East London, home of Inventive Records, where she had her first real experience in recording. This resulted in two tracks, 'Groove In Me' and 'So Beautiful', which achieved airplay on various pirate radio stations, being included on the garage compilation 'Flava of the Underground', under the pseudonym Lena Renoir. Songbird's next venture was into the Dreem Team studios in Tottenham, North London, where she began several projects, one of which - a cover of the hook from Beverly Craven's 'Promise Me' - featured on the track '4am for my Bass'. After this she drifted between writing and singing as a solo artist and becoming part of two girl groups, (at different times of course!), before finally deciding that going solo was the right choice. At this point in time Songbird trained at The London Communty Gospel Choir Vocal Workshops where she took the lead at a performance in St Pauls Church, Covent Garden. As part of the Workshop Choir, she also had the amazing opportunity to perform at LCGC's Christmas Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Around the same time Songbird also trained at Pineapple Performing Arts School in Covent Garden, where in the last term she took various leads at the end of term performance. Since then Songbird has worked intermittently for Sunfly Karaoke, transcribing and re-recording up-coming chart releases by everyone from Beyonce to Katie Melua, to be used as karaoke backing.Layout Provided By CodeMyLayout.com - Myspace Layouts
