maCEhual is an mc based out of southeast Los Angeles. Rhyming since he was 15 years old, maCEhual's music has matured with him. Once just stickin to the classic battle rap; at about 17, he discovered his history and ancestral roots and began to incorporate that into his music. Within the past year, maCEhual has decided to take the reigns and begin producing his music. Only time will tell how that works out. But overall, he makes music to convey his thoughts and feelings. As a young Chicano, he speaks from that perspective of society, which isn't always pretty (to sugar coat it). maCEhual possesses a militant ethos. He doesn't preach violence as answer, but he advocates the self-defense one's self and his/her people. With his music, he hopes to reach out to those who feel the same or can understand where he comes from. He likes to describe his music as "revolutionary gangsta rap." maCEhual cites Talib Kweli, dead prez, 2Pac, Rage Against the Machine, Mos Def, Brownside, Joe Bataan, The Stylistics and Motown as influences.
