About Me

I grew up in Michigan and moved to Florida when I was 16. I've always loved music, so I headed straight for the rock-n-roll bands as soon as I got out of high school. After many years as a successful starving artist/music instructor/etc., I enrolled in college to broaden my horizons :) What I learned may have led to a new career, but it didn't diminish my love of playing the guitar and seeking out new musical landscapes.Cute MySpace Layouts and Free MySpace Layouts Funny Videos at www.JungleRiot.com

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Me (guitars), Myself (bass), and I (keys)... plus a really lame drum machine. This music has nothing to do with any of my bands, past or present. It's experimental music for a lesson book I'm slowly working on. My purpose is to 1.) prove you can write using bizarre scales and 2.) to provide students with sample two-minute rhythm tracks to practice shredding over.If you're joining me on this trip around the musical universe, please note we'll only be stopping at 10 of the 28 planets I'd like to show you... because that's all myspace will allow. See what you can come up with while improvising over these tracks. Things may get a bit strange sounding from time to time, but the idea is to introduce your ears to different scales than you're used to. I've also panned some of the instruments hard left or right in the stereo field, so if your monitor system allows, you can silence some of them if a tune's total mix is too busy for your tastes. Experiment and ENJOY!!!
Influences: I've been playing guitar for as long as I can remember (O.K., one short break when I started college, that's all...). I'm always looking for the unusual in scales or chord progressions and enjoy the challenge of using them effectively in the musical examples I'm crafting for my book on music theory.
