An action-packed gangster film set in the outskirts of Sydney in the late 1970s, the film stars Gerard Kennedy, Vince Sorrenti, Johnny Boxer and Travis McMahon at the head of a strong cast of emerging Australian talent. The film has over 60 cast and crew. Most of the film technicians and expert staff have international credits to their name including GALLIPOLI, MAD MAX, THE QUIET AMERICAN, STAR WARS, BABE, SUPERMAN and THE MATRIX. The crew is passing on skills to the next generation of Australian filmmakers by mentoring 10 media production students on work experience. HOBBY FARM is a low-budget film ($320,000) financed entirely from private Australian investors. It is being made for a cinema release next year and for international distribution. The film is starting to generate wide interest and has the potential to be the new MAD MAX. The Canberra Times speculated about this possibility in a recent feature article.
