I'm a live cat. Poetry, stories, gardening, ballet, traveling, history, walking--not strolling, nifty gadgets, random information that does nobody any practical good.
Annie Dillard, Gerard Manly Hopkins, W.H. Auden, Emma Thompson Even though I wouldn't be able to think of anything intelligent to say to any of them.
There's really too much good music out there to be able to listen to everything, so I will not claim to know much about music. [Begin pontificating]However, too many people use bands as cool points, and the more Amazing bands you know that no one has heard of the cooler you are. I think that is silly. [end pontificating] I find myself coming back to the Arcade Fire, Zero 7, Death Cab for Cutie, Postal Service, Feist, Kings of Convenience, Pixies, Radiohead, Ben Folds, Bjork, the Killers, Citizen Cope, The Flaming Lips, Bach, Grieg, Beethoven, Chopin and Ravel. I've been very into the new P&P soundtrack lately. The music was actually composed before the movie was shot, and informed how they filmed it. Good to listen to when stressed or unwinding or on a slow Sunday morning after a few too many mimosas.
