About Me

My music is now online at hydrophonica.com
Hi, I have here some songs that I have written in tribute to the Grateful Dead. Highway, A Tall Tale and The King of Hearts were written in this spirit and Memphis Hideaway was written during those days when it seemed that driving through the USA with a Dancing Skeleton on your car was just cause to be pulled over and searched. Many heads are still in jail.
On the Road is meant as more of a tip of the hat to the Beat scene and running through the Beatles and of course the Grateful Dead.-
My newsest addition here is a tribute to the Chateau Lafayette; the oldest tavern in Ottawa. It's not quite what it once was-but it's still the Laf I suppose..... It was a very unadorned, unashamed drinking hall for a hundred and fifty years and now it is half fast food joint and half brass pub with a bit of the old character.
The Chateau Lafayette was a real crossroads; a place where people came in off the highway to, where all sorts of people gathered from all walks of life-the most bizarre assortment of humanity you could imagine. It was also a place where we held regular concerts on the odd Sunday afternoons-usually Longbottom and The Gold Nugget Express with appearances by the newly formed Four Way Street and various other acts like Cabin Fever and Vicki Fraser. Many a Shakedown was had there as we raved ubtil until the wee hours with people dancing on the tables and out into the street. Of course it has been other things to other people but I'm just telling my side of the story here...
I am doing all the instruments as well as writing and recording/producing so it is more a labour of love than a professional undertaking so I hope you enjoy it. Things get remixed from time to time and re-uploaded...I'll keep me posted...
