Three categories of competition:
LIVE LAPTOP (performing original music)
DIGITAL DJ’ing (mixing other people’s music)
VJ (mixing multiple visual sources)
Here's how it works...
Rule 1:
It's all about the crowd - audience reaction
is the main criteria used by the judging panel.
Rule 2:
Sets can be prepared in advance, but you will
be judged on the live performance of your work.
Rule 3:
Use of steroids and other performance-
enhancing drugs is strictly prohibited.
FOR LIVE LAPTOP COMPETITIONS:
A sample of one pre-selected song must be
integrated in the live set of all competitors. The
randomly-chosen song will be announced and
provided to participants no less than three days
in advance of the event.
FOR DIGITAL MIXING COMPETITIONS:
One pre-selected song must be played in the mix by
all competitors. The randomly-chosen song will be
announced and provided to participants no less than
three days in advance of the event.
FOR VJ COMPETITIONS:
Pre-selected footage must be integrated into your
performance. The pre-selected footage will be provided
in DVD format at MOOG Audio no less than three days
prior to the competition.
Battles will take place in 6-8 minute elimination
rounds, judged by a panel of peers. Contestants
will advance in tournament-style match-ups until
final winners are decided in all categories.
