About Me

Cyril Morin started at a young age on stage as a guitar player and as a composer for television. His collaborations with many notable film directors transformed his style in a strong eclectic, universal and international language.
His first feature films, Samsara (directed by Pan Nalin with Christy Chung), Valley of Flowers (directed by Pan Nalin with Mylène Jampanoi and Haseeruddin Shah), The Syrian Bride (directed by Eran Riklis with Hiam Abbas and Makram J. Khoury), and Autumn (directed by Ra’up Mcgee with Irène Jacob and Laurent Lucas), brought him international success.
Quickly, Cyril received 2 awards for his scores at the Auxerre International Soundtrack festival with The Syrian Bride and later, Zaina (directed by Bourlem Guerdjou with Simon Abkarian and Sami Bouajila). He was also nominated at the World Soundtrack Awards and The European Film Awards. His score for Little Jerusalem (directed by Karin Albou with Elsa Zylberstein and Fanny Valette) got him 2 awards and the film was screened at the critics week (Cannes Film Festival).
Soon after he lent his talent to the American film Shamelove (directed by Mattew Mcusic), Cry in silence (directed by John Gabriel Biggs) and That day (directed by Jacob Berger with Bruno Todeschini and Natacha Regnier), 20 Nights and a rainy day (directed by Lam Le with Natalia Wörmer), Fires from Mansare (directed by Mansour Sora Wade) and, the Flaubert adaptation A Simple Heart (directed by Marion Laine with Sandrine Bonnaire).
Cyril also worked in television on political and historical films like October 17th, 1961 (directed by Alain Tasma with Clotilde Coureau and Vahina Giocante), which was awarded as the best film at the Emmy Awards 2006, Captain of the Darkness (directed by Serge Moati) and Operation Turquoise (directed by Alain Tasma). His music from the TV series Mafiosa (directed by Louis Choquette with Hélène Filières) a thriller for Canal+ was criticaly aclaimed.
He worked also on international documentaries like Ayurveda, Art of being (directed by Pan Nalin), Speaking Tree (directed by Natasha de Betak), the Golestan Horseman (directed by Alksandar Dzerdz. The feature documentary Unmistaken Child (directed by Nati Baratz) was recently shown inToronto and Berlin.
Cyril Morin has also colaborated as orchestrator for Madonna (Music), Mirwais (Production), and the English band Mankato (Safe as houses). His music was recently sampled by the Rap band Kery James and his music is now remixed by DJ’s from Nes. He also recently produced and composed the albums for the Indian singer Vidya Rao (Song for Shunyata) and The American singer Zera Vaughan (The new seed)…
He has done a few solo albums inspired by contemporary music 4 String quartet and few productions where he mixes symphonic orchestra and electronic sounds like Western Pansori which was criticaly aclaimed.
Cyril has composed almost 60 soundtracks and many albums where he has always blended and mixed his versatile sources of inspiration…
