ALEA

About Me

ALEA started in 1998 with a goal to explore the possibilities of including randomly created electroacoustic grooves into modern improvised music. In 1998, when Stockholm was the Cultural Capital of Europe, ALEA was one of the featured events in the program. After that ALEA has toured Scandinavia and performed at festivals in Sweden, the groups personal mix of electronic sounds and improvised acoustic music have appealed to the young audiences in Scandinavia. In 2002 the groups first record, Engine, was released on GAC records. You can download the album or tracks from it on .. Critics gave it a warm welcome and and described the music as “A musical variation of a rainforest with all its multispecies timbre” and “ A serious attempt to mix modern expressions like breakbeats and samples with real jazz; exiting!” Later the record was also released in Japan on Wardrecords. From 2004 ALEA have had a long nice vacation but in the beginning of 2007 the group recorded new material for a record released in December last year. You can listen to some of the new tracks here on Myspace.I edited my profile at Doobix.com
