So what is up? Hi I am Orkid and I was the second calf born to Kandu5 and the first calf born to Orky2 through another orca besides his long-time mate Corky2. I was born three days before my father's death on September 26, 1988. And my auntie was Corky2. My mother died, when I was only 11 months old :(, during a show when she misjudged her speed and fractured her jaw when attempting to exert dominance over Corky2. Corky2 then became my surrogate mother. Sometimes I can miss my mother. I was also raised by Kasatka, when she came to Sea World California, and became best friends with her calf, Takara. Me and her would get very michevious and love to splash unsuspecting victims. I have gotten well along with the “Kotar kids” very well and kinda liked Keto (LP) The huge Icelandic male, Ulises, has a whale equivilent to a “crush” on me. He is known to sometimes vocalize at the gate when we are seperated. I gets along with most of the other whales as long as they acknowledge my space *whale grins*. Kayla, is my half-sister and only sibling, lives at Sea World Texas and is lowest in the dominance hiarchy. And she has mothered her first calf which I have heard rejected baby Halyn. Besides Kassy, my two favorite playmates here in Cali are sweet wittle Kalia and Nakai and Sumar heehee.
