RABBI/RAB/RICHMOND RAB
Rap Artist
Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia , Andre Jackson a/k/a Rab (short for Rabbit), is quickly becoming a Problem in the Rap game. Meeting up with his college buddy, Jermaine “Twin†James on a basketball scholarship at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York , the two became the best of friends. To date, Twin is the Manager for Platinum Rap Recording Artist, Juelz Santana.
In 2003, Rab decided to put the ball down and pick up a pen. RAB caught the music bug during an impromptu feature on Santana’s 2004 FIEND OUT mixtape where RAB made his lyrical debut on a song called, “On the Blockâ€. Pursuing a Rap Career became Plan A in Rab’s gamebook. Moving back to Richmond , he and his cousin started their own Independent Record Label where he has since released two extremely popular mixtapes. In 2005, he released his first mixtape entitled, BASIC TRAINING. “With this first mixtape, this was the beginning of me starting to rhyme and taking music seriouslyâ€, recalls RAB. In 2007, he released ROAD TO STARDOM, his follow up mixtape where his growth as an Artist really started to excel.
Hearing one of his mixtapes, Twin contacted RAB on behalf of Santana and the rest is history. It’s 2008 and RAB is now down with SKULL GANG Entertainment, the label owned and operated by Juelz Santana.
Within three months of signing to the label, RAB now has a demo that’s hotter than the South in the Summer. With a blazing demo equipped with features from the likes of Yo Gotti; Juelz Santana; Jim Jones; Lil Wayne; and more, a bidding war is about to start and it’s gonna get ugly.
RAB’s sizzla called “Hydrolics†featuring Lil Wayne was featured on the Alchemist’s summer album. This Fall/Winter of 2008, check out Rab’s rhymes on the SKULL GANG TAKEOVER mixtape.
When asked to describe his sound, RAB states, “I’m the truth. I have a real hood, southern blues sound. Get ready, cause here I comeâ€.
