Influences: Siege Bio: The rap game nowadays has become quite complicated. Underneath all the hate, glitz, and glamour lurks an untapped source of raw talent. Emerging from this, 20 year-old Brentwood, Long Island/Queens, New York native Charles Santiago Jr. a.k.a Siege Spitfire holds his own in an industry based on the pursuit of capital. Born premature in the Summer heat of August, Siege's story almost never began. Weighing a mere pound and a half, Siege struggled to live for months. If many of today's "best-selling" and "hottest" "rappers" say they can withstand anything, Siege is definitely living proof. A brain hemmorage. A collapsed lung. Dying and being revived three times. These all brought doctors to believe he would be severely disabled, blind, deaf, and have permanent brain damage, and that's if he even lived. But where things looked their worst, Siege miraculously recovered, and underwent extensive physical therapy as a child. Of his life and death experience he says: "God gave me a second chance, and wants me to make the best of it." Adding to his individuality, Siege is a Haitian/Puerto Rican/Irishman with one goal in mind: prove anyone wrong who believes he's not rap game material. At the young age of nine, Siege picked up the craft of emceeing after hearing such influential albums as Biggie's "Ready to Die", The Fugees' "The Score", and Busta Rhymes' "The Coming". He is also influenced by artists like Sting, Carlos Santana, Michael Jackson, and Nirvana. Siege's focus is lyrics. Not a hustler, not a killer, and not from the streets, His views can be summarized in one sentence: "This rap game has been ravaged by bullshit..." In addition to being a solo artist, Siege has worked with many other artists, including his group High eNfluence, who he met attending Hamilton College in Upstate New York. With such a realistic view on life, Siege proves he's got staying power in an industry where "rappers fall off faster than suicide victims".
